HOPS-A-LOPS

Velveteen Lops

Well, what a challenge. I wish I had known how difficult it would be to get those big English Lop does to accept those little Mini-Rex bucks. I wish I had more to show you than this one picture of first generation babies, but they are especially precious to me since they were so difficult to get.

Watch those ears boys they are supposed to lop!

Here is a little history of the Velveteen Lop. The breed was first exhibited at the ARBA convention in Milwaukee. They were also exhibited at the convention in Portland. Mary Crawford has the Certificate of Development from ARBA and they passed their first showing at the convention in Louisville. The breed will have to pass two more showings at Columbus and then San Diego to be accepted as a recognized breed. Because they have passed one showing they can be shown at any ARBA show, but not given awards. Mary has worked for over 5 years to display the beautiful animals she had in Louisville, I certainly appreciate how hard that work has been.
